Job Summary:
The role of a Testing Engineer/Quality Analyst & Scrum Master in the Edutech industry is critical for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software and digital products tailored for educational purposes. This position involves leading testing and quality assurance efforts, coordinating project activities, and applying agile methodologies to drive project success, ultimately contributing to the improvement of educational technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Planning & Execution: Lead and execute comprehensive test planning, design, and execution for software applications and digital products, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate project activities to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions, maintaining clear communication and alignment across all teams involved.
- Documentation Management: Develop, maintain, and manage project documentation, including test plans, test cases, status reports, and other relevant materials.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues, ensuring adherence to industry-standard quality metrics and benchmarks.
- Scrum Leadership: Lead and facilitate agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and other Scrum-related activities, ensuring the team follows best practices.
- Risk Management: Identify, prioritize, and track project risks and issues, implementing effective mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project timelines and outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement: Conduct root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement initiatives across projects to enhance processes, tools, and team efficiency.
- Product Review & Design: Review and contribute to product requirements and design discussions, ensuring testability and overall quality from the earliest stages of development.
- Test Automation & CI/CD: Champion best practices for test automation, continuous integration (CI), and continuous deployment (CD) to improve testing efficiency and product release cycles.
- Team Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to team members in quality assurance, testing methodologies, and agile best practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Agile Process Optimization: Drive the adoption and evolution of agile processes and tools across the organization, ensuring they are aligned with industry best practices and the company’s goals.
- Release Planning & Deployment: Participate in release planning and deployment activities, ensuring that all products are launched successfully and meet customer expectations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback, driving continuous improvements in product quality, reliability, and user satisfaction.
- Metrics & Reporting: Lead efforts to collect and report on key quality assurance metrics and project performance indicators, providing transparency and insights to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications: Relevant industry certifications such as ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) or CSM (Certified Scrum Master).
- Experience: Proven experience in software testing, quality assurance, and project coordination, preferably in the Edutech or related industry.
- Agile Expertise: Strong understanding of agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, with experience in leading and facilitating agile ceremonies.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks, with a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and best practices.
- Project Management Tools: Experience with project management and coordination tools such as Jira and Confluence, with a proven ability to manage complex projects.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership capabilities, with experience in mentoring and coaching team members, driving continuous improvement, and managing change within agile teams.
- Quality Assurance Knowledge: Solid understanding of quality assurance metrics, reporting principles, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
